In 2021 four members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community in North Perth got together and decided it was time to bring a little Pride to the area. Although Pride month had come and gone, it did not stop the four from hosting a North Perth Pride Fundraiser on July 24, 2021 featuring a live DJ, food, drinks, and drag queens!
The event featured music from DJ Dwayne Minard, food from Birdie’s Holy Guacamole, Burger Queen and Pollo Morta, drinks from Junction 56, Cowbell Brewery, and Trayvino Wines, as well as drag show performances from Troy Boy Entertainment.
Local businesses and members of the community donated items for a Silent Auction, and many donated to a GoFundMe page.
The event was a huge success – tickets sold out and all together the event raised just under $10,000.
The money raised will go towards holding multiple events for North Perth Pride in 2022.
